Soccer has been played on the peninsula since the early part of the last century. The backbone of this and indeed of all the other sport in the then rural community were the employees of St Ita’s Hospital.
St Ita’s AFC as we know it today, while having its roots in the 1920’s, formally set up as a competitive Club in the mid 1950’s when it was one of the founding clubs of the Amateur League, a partnership that lasted until 2008. The Mens Adult team now ply their trade in the Athletic Union League (AUL). Contact Alan O'Shaughnessy on 087 2486882 for details.
Our Club currently fields teams at almost every age along with two Senior Men's teams. The Club also boasts of a thriving coaching section for the 4 to 6 year Olds in DPCC on Saturday mornings. Contact Niall Hayden on 086 6070221 for details.
